Aluminum Door Panel Installation Use your browser's BACK button to return to the page you were viewing.
PLEASE READ all instructions all the way through BEFORE YOU START!
NOTE: These door panels fit '84-'88 Toyota trucks and '84-'89 4Runners with manual-crank windows. 4Runner passenger doors have two latches. A.O.R.'s passenger-side panel is cut with only one handle hole and is made to cover up the rearward hole on 4Runners. Installer may elect to cut a second hole for the 4Runner rearward latch.
1. Remove window crank, door latch assembly, arm rest and old door panel. Make sure to remove all the stock clips (in fingers) so A.O.R. panel will fit flat against the door.
2. Apply self-adhesive weather stripping (included with the panels) around entire edge of door panel back.
3.
Trial-fit panel to door using arm rest to hold it in
place. Plan and mark positions for mounting holes. Check for speaker
wiring inside door. A.O.R. recommends drilling 3/16" mounting
holes directly through the weather stripping (refer to finish photo above
for suggested spacing).
4. Use the included self-tapping screws to attach panel. Avoid over-tightening screws so as not to bend or dimple the panel. Happy 'wheeling and thanks
for choosing A.O.R. products!
