             A.O.R. Customer's Rigs in Action

A.O.R. customers are some of the most DISTURBED 'wheelers on the planet. And we love to show their rigs in action. That's what this page is for.

'Wheelin in Paradise...

Thanks to Chris Hill in Barbados for helping make A.O.R. a truly international company! We're also proud to have customers in Guam, Australia, Canada, Israel and the Cayman Islands.

Chris'  early 90's right-hand drive Hilux  has Orbit Eyes all the way around, Bilstein 7100s and Bonz Shackles. And it's powered by an LC-turbo'd 22R with an estimated 380 horsepower. Chris custom modified the fiberglass body panels.

This insane custom double cabbed '81 started life as a long bed. Owner Johnny Lange is the founder and president of the WildYoats 4x4 Club--one of the bashingest and best clubs anywhere! Based in Salt Lake City, WildYoats has chapters all over the 'wheeling country. Check out the club site at www.wildyoats.com for more details on Johnny's A.O.R.-sprung '81 and lotsa sick action photos!

Alan Lunghi's severely (and cooly) chopped FJ55 makes an easy meal of the most vicious trail thanks in part to A.O.R. Orbit-Eye springs.

John Schmitt just won 3rd in Class and 6th overall in the 3rd Annual Rock Garden Rock Crawling Competition. His '87 has tons of A.O.R. goodies including an A.O.R. solid-axle conversion and Orbit-Eye springs.

Bilstein 5100s deliver 14.31 inches of travel for just $69.95 apiece!

A.O.R.'s Over-the-Engine Extended Shock Mount System is perfect for long-travel shocks. You can order the crossover steering you'll need from A.O.R., too.

Here's the crossover bar that keeps the Bilsteins steady. The enigne is a stock 22RE four-banger--plenty gutsy enough for serious competitive 'wheeling.

Chris says he loves the way the Orbit-Eyes and Bilsteins work for jumping dunes.  But Randy is hoping something will go wrong so he'll have to head to Barbados for a month or so to fix it!

Okay, you're right... It is a Jeep, but the word's getting around about how well Orbit-Eyes work. And our bud Chad Barney wanted his CJ to be the best it could be, so we outfitted it Orbit-EyeTM springs and swapped in some long-travel Bilstein 7100 shocks with remote reservoirs. Gets twisty, huh?  And we think Chad oughta just leave the fenders off permanently.

The bobbed beast hides a Cummins 4BT turbo- diesel that cranks out nearly 300hp and 750 lb-ft of torque! It also sports an SM465 and an Atlas II and Dynatrac high-pinion 60s with ARB air lockers. Fabrication by Crawl Tec.

Windshield? Who needs it...

John won 6th out of 36 rigs despite rolling his Toy on the last obstacle. The windshield exploded. But that didn't stop him from 'wheeling 21 Road the next weekend! Photo: Chad Barney

Orbit-Eyes all around!

Orbit-Eyes increase axle articulation, eliminate munched bushings, and help keep from ripping spring hangers off the frame during extreme flex. Schmitt runs 4-inch lift A.O.R. springs with Orbit-Eyes in both ends of all springs. A.O.R. extended shackles bring the total lift to 5 inches. 3 inches of body lift make room for 35x12.50/15 BFG Mud Terrains.

Can you believe this ?!?!

Schmitt runs Marfields in his front axle and Lock-Rights in both pumpkins.

But his diff gears are 4.88s and his t'case gears are stock behind a stock automatic tranny.

Still, he bested all but two rigs in his Class at the Rock Garden Rock Crawling Competition! Can you say, "Driver skill"?

A 5-speed and Crawler gears are in John Schmitt's future plans -- And more WINNING, too.
